Portuguese Keyboard Online

Type ç, ã, õ and accented vowels on any computer or phone. Click the keys, or type on your own keyboard as if it were a Brazilian one.

How to use the Portuguese keyboard

Click or tap any key to add that character to the text box.

On a computer you can also type on your physical keyboard. The keys follow the Brazilian ABNT2 keyboard, so the key to the right of L gives ç. The small grey character on a key shows the matching key on a US English keyboard. Untick “Type Portuguese with my physical keyboard” to go back to your keyboard's normal letters.

When you are done, press Copy and paste the text into an email, a document or a chat. The “Search with” buttons open Google, YouTube, Wikipedia or Google Translate with what you typed.

Portuguese letters and accents

Portuguese uses the Latin alphabet with ç and five accent marks. ç has its own key to the right of L.

The accents are typed in two steps, using the keys shown in colour. Press ~ (to the right of ç) and then a for ã; with Shift the same key gives ^, so ^ then e gives ê. The ´ key to the right of P gives á, é, í, ó and ú, and with Shift the grave accent for à.

This is the layout used in Brazil. Keyboards sold in Portugal place some symbols differently, but the letters and accents you can type are the same.
