Spanish Keyboard Online
Type ñ, accented vowels, ¿ and ¡ on any computer or phone. Click the keys, or type on your own keyboard as if it were a Spanish one.
How to use the Spanish keyboard
Click or tap any key to add that character to the text box.
On a computer you can also type on your physical keyboard. The keys follow the keyboard used in Spain, so the key to the right of L gives ñ. The small grey character on a key shows the matching key on a US English keyboard. Untick “Type Spanish with my physical keyboard” to go back to your keyboard's normal letters.
When you are done, press Copy and paste the text into an email, a document or a chat. The “Search with” buttons open Google, YouTube, Wikipedia or Google Translate with what you typed.
Spanish letters and accents
Spanish uses the Latin alphabet plus ñ, which has its own key to the right of L. The opening marks ¡ and ¿ are on the key to the left of Backspace: press it for ¡, or with Shift for ¿.
Accents are typed in two steps. Press the ´ key (to the right of ñ, shown in colour), then the vowel: ´ then a gives á. For ü, press Shift and the same key to get ¨, then u.
AltGr shows the third layer, with @ on 2, € on E and the square and curly brackets.
Questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. The keyboard runs in your browser and works without changing any settings on your computer or phone.
How do I type ñ?
Press the key to the right of L. With Shift it gives Ñ.
How do I type á, é, í, ó and ú?
Press the ´ key and then the vowel. Nothing appears until you press the vowel; that is how accent keys work on a Spanish keyboard.
How do I type the upside-down question mark ¿?
Press Shift and the key to the left of Backspace. Without Shift the same key gives ¡.
Is my text saved or sent anywhere?
Your text is kept only in your own browser so it is still there if you reload the page. It is not sent to us. Press Clear to remove it. If you use a “Search with” button, your text is sent to that site as a search.
